Shaykh Mohammed Amin Kholwadia

 is the founder/director of Darul Qasim. At 16,  he traveled to India to memorize the Qurʾān. He pursued higher Islamic studies at Dār al-ʿUlūm Sabīl al-Rashād in Bangalore under Mawlānā Muḥammad Mīrān (ra), specializing in Akbarī spirituality and the works of al-Ghazālī, Ibn ʿArabī, and al-Shaʿrānī (ra). He earned ijāzah in Ḥafṣ recitation after mastering al-Muqaddamah al-Jazariyyah.

His studies continued at Jāmiʿat al-ʿUlūm al-Islāmiyyah (Karachi), where he condensed years of curriculum, studying al-Hidāyah with Dr. ʿAbd al-Razzāq Iskandar and Tafsīr al-Jalālayn with prominent scholars. In 1979, he moved to Deoband, studying under luminaries including Muftī Saʿīd Aḥmad al-Pālanpūrī and Qārī Muḥammad Ṭayyib al-Qāsimī (ra), from whom he received ḥadith ijāzah. Further studies in Jalālabād and Bihār culminated in iftāʾ certification from Qāḍī Mujāhid al-Islām al-Qāṣimī.

Returning to Bangalore, he received taṣawwuf ijāzah and khilāfah from Mawlānā Mīrān.

Shaykh Amīn moved to Chicago in 1984, serving as scholar, educator, and advisor to Muslim institutions and the Council of Religious Leaders of Greater Chicagoland.

As founder/director of Darul Qasim (1998), he oversees advanced Islamic studies while advising universities (Michigan, Chicago) and the Initiative on Islam and Medicine. His interdisciplinary approach bridges traditional scholarship with contemporary fields like bioethics and finance. He maintains an active teaching schedule, offering both institutional instruction and personal mentorship.
