Dr. Karim Lahham is an academic consultant and Senior Research Fellow at Tabah Foundation (since 2005), where he founded and leads the Classification of the Sciences Project as principal researcher and editor. He holds master’s degrees from both the Royal College of Art and University of Oxford, and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge.

A specialist in Islamic commercial law, Dr. Lahham maintains an extensive specialist library and particular expertise in Ottoman (The Mejelle), Egyptian, and UAE civil codes, offering expert consultation by arrangement. His academic appointments include serving as consultant (2009-2010) for the Golden Web Foundation’s Living Traditions Programme, researching Arid Lands Agriculture and related water rights.

He currently directs the Filaha Texts Project (filaha.org), an initiative dedicated to cataloguing, studying, and implementing protocols from the Islamic Andalusian tradition of agronomy and water management.
