Dr. Mohammed Tayssir Safi
holds a PhD in Islamic Studies from Ibn Haldun University, where his dissertation examined the rational and epistemological foundations of classical ḥadīth criticism. Complementing his academic training, he pursued traditional Islamic studies with scholars in Damascus, Cairo, Tarim, and Istanbul.
A graduate of the Sultan Ahmet Madrasa’s IKAN program in Islamic theology (Kalām), Dr. Safi also holds a master’s in Applied Linguistics from the University of Michigan and a manuscript editing certificate from Istanbul’s ISAM (Islamic Research Center). He is the founding director of the Felicity Foundation and previously served as Muslim Chaplain at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Currently, Dr. Safi is pursuing a second PhD at Northwestern University, where he previously served as a predoctoral fellow (2021-2023). His research bridges traditional Islamic epistemology with contemporary anglophone philosophical frameworks.\
